CONCORD MOTORSPORT PARK MAKES SCHEDULE CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER ISSUES

CONCORD, N.C. – Four rain-outs in the first 10 scheduled NASCAR Whelen All-American Series events has forced a change in the published schedule in an effort to meet the minimum number of national championship points events required under the NASCAR sanction prior to the ending date of September 14, 2008.

Speedway management today announced that twin-35 laps Late Model Stock Car feature events are being scheduled on June 28; July 19; August 2, 9 and 16 replacing the one 75-lap feature event on those dates.  Time trials will establish the starting order of the first feature with the finishing order of the first feature establishing the starting order of the second feature. The standard 75-lap purse will be split between the two 35-lap races. 

The schedule for the event dates is changing as well, with the first Town & Country Ford Late Model feature scheduled as the opening race of the night and the second feature placed as the fourth race of the night.

The schedule changes do not affect the support divisions.

More changes may be necessary if inclement weather causes further problems in the schedule.
